Artist's Description
Whitby Abbey is a ruined Benedictine abbey overlooking the North Sea on the East Cliffs above Whitby in North Yorkshire, England. It has another distinction beyond its history as a Gothic Church, it is the place where Bram Stoker conceived of the fictitious story of "Dracula!" Whitby provided Stoker with an atmospheric backdrop to his novel, a quiet place to indulge in a little library research and a place to have a wonderful family seaside holiday. If you haven't read the novel, pull up the covers, turn out the lights, light a candle, and "dig" in! Happy Halloween!

An unbridled energy to race when all others fall behind The courage to stand still when taking flight seems the only choice. ...
